Life as a college student is never easy—but when you're also working a job and trying to stay creative, the balancing act can feel like a full-time performance. Over the past semester, I've learned a lot about time management, self-discipline, and the importance of staying connected to what inspires me.
I'm currently studying media and communications, which means my assignments aren’t just academic—they're creative. From writing blogs to designing visual content, I'm expected to produce work that feels authentic and thoughtful. At the same time, I work part-time, which adds structure to my day but also eats into the time I could spend relaxing or brainstorming ideas.
There have definitely been tough days. Days when deadlines pile up, energy runs low, and everything feels overwhelming. But what keeps me going is remembering why I chose this path in the first place—I love storytelling. Whether it’s writing a blog post like this or editing a class video project, I get excited about creating something that reflects a part of me.
One thing that has helped me is setting boundaries. I’ve started carving out dedicated time slots for school, work, and personal creativity. I’ve also learned to say no to distractions—especially scrolling endlessly on my phone.
Most importantly, I've learned that it's okay to take breaks. You can't be your best self if you're constantly burned out. Sometimes, a short walk or just sitting quietly with music can reset your energy and refocus your mind.
This journey has taught me more than just media skills. It's taught me resilience, passion, and how to make space for creativity in a busy world. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
